Joy Northcott died peacefully, aged 51, in the Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh, on 25th January 2017, as a result of secondary breast cancer. 
She chose the Maggie’s Centre as her charity of choice for memorial donations because both she and her husband, Peter, had received a great deal of support from Maggie’s, from the very first day that her cancer had been diagnosed in March 2012 and during the following five years.
